実際に私は日本に来て学んだのは、日本という国ではケガを我慢する、ケガをしながらも試合に出て活躍をするということがとても褒めたたえられる行動だと、理解されているということです。しかし私は、これはプロフェッショナルな行動だとはまったく思いません。体のシグナルを無視して試合に出るということは、他のチームメートに迷惑をかけることになるので、一切やるべきではありません。
あくまで一つの例ですが、ある選手がケガをしている、そして実際に70パーセントのプレーしかできない、このような選手がピッチに立つということは、ケガをしておらず100パーセントの状態でベンチに座っている選手に対してとても失礼なことだと思います。
